Terms and Conditions

We look forward to grooming and caring for your dog.  By booking an appointment with us online, by telephone, in person, or by any other method, you agree to our full terms and conditions.

Please read them carefully before your appointment.

Your Dog's Health & Welfare are our top priority at The Stables Dog Grooming and our policies reflect this commitment. Please review the following guidelines to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog and our staff:

Complaints: Any complaints about your dog's grooming must be reported within 48 hours of the appointment.

Health Conditions:  Please discuss all pre-existing health conditions with us before grooming.

Owner's Risk: All dogs are groomed at the owner's risk. We reserve the right to refuse grooming if we believe the dog is too unwell, infirm, aggressive, fearful, or unfit. If we must end a grooming session early, we may charge for the full appointment at our discretion. Please bring your dog back as soon as possible to complete the groom.

Behavioural Issues: Disclose any behavioural issues before grooming. Failure to do so may result in extra charges if additional time or staff are needed. We may terminate the groom if the dog is too fearful, stressed, or poses a risk.

Fearful Dogs: We welcome fearful dogs and may advise a rehabilitation program or seeking advice forma behaviourist to help them become             comfortable with grooming. This may require more frequent appointments until the dog feels more comfortable.

Health Discoveries: Our groomers may discover health, skin, or dental issues during the grooming process. These will be disclosed to you upon         collection, and you can seek veterinary advice.  The Stables Dog Grooming is not responsible for health conditions discovered during grooming.

Advice: While we may offer advice, our staff  cannot diagnose or treat medical issues. Please always consult a veterinarian for health concerns.

Insurance & Emergencies

We are fully insured. While accidents are rare, they can happen. In the event of an emergency, you consent to us seeking medical   attention for your dog at your expense. We will contact you as soon as possible.

If we are unable to reach you or your vet, we have access to an emergency veterinary service.  We will seek their advice to ensure your dog receives the necessary care.

FAQ's

Will you groom my dog if they have fleas, ticks, or other parasites?
If you discover your dog has fleas before your appointment, please notify us immediately. To prevent contamination, we will reschedule appointments for dogs with fleas whenever possible. If your dog arrives with fleas, we will reject the appointment, and you must pay the full price.

We routinely check for fleas before bathing. If we find fleas, we may turn your dog away to prevent contamination. However, if fleas are discovered after bathing or grooming has started, we will continue the groom and take measures to prevent the spread to other animals.

Dogs with fleas will be bathed in a flea-repellent shampoo (containing natural ingredients) unless requested otherwise. An additional charge of £10-£20 will be added to cover the cost of cleaning equipment and fumigating the salon.

If we find a tick on your dog, our groomers are trained to remove it with a tick-removal tool. While we strive to remove the entire tick, you may need to consult a vet if any part remains.

We will contact the primary person on file and other contacts before removing a tick. If we cannot reach you, we will proceed with the necessary actions for your dog's welfare, which may include not continuing the groom, avoiding the affected area, or removing the tick at the groomer's discretion.

Additional charges may apply if extra time is needed due to the presence of ticks.

If we suspect your dog has any other parasites, we will contact you immediately

Do you charge a cancellation fee for grooming?
At The Stables Dog Grooming we understand that sometimes plans change. To help manage this, we send text and email reminders 48 hours before your appointment.

  • Rearrangements/Cancellations: You can reschedule or cancel your appointment up to 48 hours in advance without any charge.
  • Late Cancellations: If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a fee of 100% of your appointment cost will be charged.
  • No Shows: If you do not contact us and miss your appointment, you will be charged the full cost.

For rebooking after a no-show, you will need to pay for the missed appointment and the new booking in advance.

What happens if I'm late for my grooming appointment?
Our groomers need enough time to complete grooms to a high standard in a stress-free environment. Therefore, it's important to arrive on time.

  • Late Arrivals: We will try to accommodate late arrivals, but if the groomer runs out of time, the entire groom may not be completed. You may need to book a short follow-up appointment to finish the groom, which will incur an additional charge.
  • Excessive Lateness: If you are more than 15 minutes late, we reserve the right to refuse service, which will be treated as a no-show.

What happens if I'm late to collect my dog from their grooming appointment?
If you anticipate being late to collect your dog, please inform us as soon as possible. We will take care of your dog while waiting for you. However, if you are more than 15 minutes late, a late collection charge will apply to cover the additional staffing required and the impact on other appointments.
